Fabric file folders

I know that the year is going to be hectic, and the paperwork that is going to accompany four children at four different places each day is going to need to be organised. Usually there is a corner of my kitchen bench that the paper work gets stacked on - I'm trying to break that habit! Ive had this desk top file for ages, but despite my best intentions rarely use it. The green cardboard files are so drab and yucky that it really doesn't motivate me to want to use it, even though I really should!

Last night (working into those uninterrupted, peaceful hours where everyone else is asleep) I pulled out the sewing machine for the first time this year and made my files look pretty!

I partly dismantled the cardboard files, cut some pretty fabric to fit them, and then stitched it on, reassembling the files as I went. I wanted them to be sturdy, so I left the cardboard intact and sewed over it. Now they look pretty on my desk, I just need to finish labelling them and then make sure I use them!!!
